WNO NEEDS A NEW BIKE?


APPARENTLY LANCE ARMSTRONG DOES!

The 3rd and 4th bikes of the LIVESTRONG “STAGES” art show were recently released to coincide with Lance’s participation in the 2009 Giro d’Italia (May 9th- 31st).The new Madone was conceived by contemporary artist, graphic designer and illustrator Shepard Fairey. The TTX was design by legendary pop artist Kenny Scharf.

Two other “STAGES” Trek Madones were unveiled earlier this year. A flat-bar designed by Barry McGee (aka Twist) and a “Bitz” inspired Milan-Sanremo bike designed by pop artist KAWS. Additional one-off custom Trek’s with be added to the current 4 before July 16th, prior to the start of the Tout de France.

"Stages" will also include a variety of art mediums, not just Trek bikes, and draw from a pool of talent that will include more then 20 commissioned artists. Once the collection is complete it will on tour culminating in the entire collection being auctioned off in New York on October 2nd 2009, to benifit the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
